OGDENSBURG - United Helpers is in the business of taking care of people. Whether it be the elderly, mentally ill, developmentally disabled or even someone recovering from an injury or surgery, taking care of people is what we do.

Two United Helpers employees Elizabeth "Betsy" Porter and Heidi Knowlton have even taken that caring for others to the next level by helping to organize several fundraisers for a fellow employee who had been diagnosed with cancer.

"I would like to Nominate Heidi Knowlton and Betsy Porter," that employee, Amy Jennings wrote in her nomination. "They have been absolutely amazing through all of this so far.  I am not done with my treatments yet, but I know that Heidi & Betsy will remain by my side."

While Ms. Porter and Ms. Knowlton aren't the only United Helpers employees who have been by her side during this difficult journey, Ms. Jennings said their efforts have stood out.

"I have had a lot of support from the employee's at UH, friends and family but Heidi and Betsy have been the most outstanding," she said.
