Maplewood Resident Brings Garden to Life


Ellen Johnson, a resident at United Helpers Maplewood Campus in Canton, NY, and her daughter Jeanne Kent posed for a photo near Ms. Johnson’s garden. The garden is in its second year and gives residents a chance to watch the birds come to the feeders and have fresh tomatoes. Ms. Johnson said she started the garden last year after she noticed sunflowers growing under the bird feeders.

United Helpers receives $25,000 grant from National Grid

National Grid and United Helpers Wednesday announced a $25,000 Main Street Revitalization Program incentive to help offset construction costs associated with the renovation of a vacant structure in the mall area of downtown Ogdensburg into revitalized, usable space.
