A trip down memory lane at Mosaic

A summer picnic on Hamilton Street.
Before moving to Spruce Street in the early 1990's, Ogdensburg's Intermediate Care Facility One was located at 221 Hamilton Street. 14 residents lived in the building, attached to the United Helpers Management Office (732 Ford Street), and we recently found photos of that time and wanted to share the good memories!

Today 221 Hamilton Street is home to Stepping Stones Children's Therapy Services and the management offices for Mosaic. But throughout the 1980's and early '90's, the two-story building contained bedrooms and living spaces where people with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries lived out fulfilling lives.

Gloria Bezio, habilitation coordinator at ICF 1, has been with the facility since 1983 and remembers the days at Hamilton Street.

Bezio said they would often take the residents outside for cooking classes, parades, and trips to campgrounds around St. Lawrence County.

Residents and staff had a great view of the Seaway Festival Parade.

Some of the vans (old school!) used to bring residents camping.
