OGDENSBURG
– The championship game in the inaugural Mosaic Human Foosball Tournament came
down to penalty kicks with a team of all women from the Ansen Corporation
taking home the top prize.
That
team, Kung Foos donated $100 of their winnings back to the Society of the
United Helpers. Second place went to the Killer Kickers with Foos Your Daddy?
bringing home the third place prize. Foos Your Daddy also donated their
winnings back to the Society.
“We had
ten teams competing for more than $500 in cash prizes,” said Mosaic
Administrator Michele M. Montroy. “It was a day full of action and fun with the
money we raised going to the Society of the United Helpers.”
“This
money will be used to enrich the lives of the people served by United Helpers,”
Ms. Montroy said.
Included
in the proceeds was a donation from the Ogdnebsurg Kiwanis Club, which donated
the proceeds from its concession stand back to the Society in memory of Gary
Skelly and Keith Robinson.
“The
Ogdenbsurg Kiwanis Club graciously gave us use of their field at Montroy Park
and even donated the proceeds from their concession stand back to United
Helpers,” Ms. Montroy said. “Thank you to Larry Mitchell and the Kiwanis Club
for this generous donation.”
Ms.
Montroy said given the success of this event, talks are already underway for
next year.
“Overall,
the event raised more than $1,600 and there were many positive comments,” she
said. “We look forward to doing this again next year.”
