What People Are Saying About Us

While a stay at one of our nursing facilities may not be high on anyone's to do list, the staff we employ at both our Maplewood and RiverLedge campuses go a long ways towards turning what could be a painful experience into a joyful one and you don't have to take our word for it.

A patient who stayed at Maplewood recently wrote Administrator Kim McFaddin a letter, noting going back to Maplewood for a second time was like "returning home."

"I have not had the pleasure of a stay at your facility in West/Beech twice. My second visit earlier this month was like returning home. I was greeted with hellos and smiles from everyone, and received awesome care and attention while I was there. I wouldn't hesitate to return there if it was necessary and I will spread the word to everyone I know.
Thank you to the entire staff at that facility. I am very grateful."

What's for Dinner?

Do you find yourself asking, "What's for dinner?"
Are you sick of hearing that question every morning before you can even finish your coffee?
While the RiverLedge Wellness Committee is here to provide an answer to that question.
The What's for Dinner: Healthy Eating on a Home Cooked Budget program is here to provide up to 10 participants with five home cooked meals for the cost of one night out or less.
Participants will receive five pre-packaged, home-cooked, Crock Pot ready meals. Each meal will serve between four and five people.
Each of the five meals will come with a recipe card containing instructions on how to prepare it from scratch for next time, as well as that meal's nutritional values.
As a special added bonus, participants will be given the ingredients to make a surprise treat for dessert.
Meals to be distributed include: beef stew, jambalya, pork chops, potato soup and beef and mushrooms.
The cost to participate is only $50 and if more than 10 people sign up, a reserve list will be created for the committee's next cooking event.
To reserve your spot in this program contact Stacey Cannizo at 393-0730 ext. 2438 or via email at slcannizo@unitedhelpers.org by Jan. 29. The $50 fee is due at that time and Jan. 29 is a pay day!

Zero-Sort Recycling Makes Going Green Easier Than Ever

A couple reasons people often give for not recycling is they don't want to take the time to "sort their trash" or they don't have room for separate containers for trash, paper, plastics and metal.
Now though, Zero-Sort recycling eliminates the need for sorting and a room full of recycling bins and garbage cans.
With Zero-Sort recycling cardboard, paper, plastic, glass and metal can all go in one container, making recycling easier than ever!
Zero-Sort recycling is offered as a service to Casella customers designed to make recycling more convenient, which in turn reduces the amount of waste going into our nation's landfills.
For more information on Zero-Sort recycling visit www.zerosort.com.
